Product Update - Faster claim pages, upload validation and guided tours

· 4 min read

This release keeps claim pages responsive on claims holding hundreds of documents, checks every uploaded file for corruption before it can be used, and brings guided in-product tours to all customers.

Faster claim pages on claims with many documents

Claims holding hundreds of documents no longer freeze while you work on them. The claim page stays responsive however long the document list gets.

On claims with large document lists, the page could lock up briefly during normal use. Clicking, scrolling or selecting would stall while the browser re-sorted and re-filtered the entire list over and over. The document list now only does that work when the list itself actually changes.

What's changing?

  • No more freezing: the claim page stays responsive on claims with hundreds of documents.
  • Applies across the product: the same fix covers the case overview, activity details, contact and team task screens, not just the claim page.
  • Consistent ordering: a related defect that could reorder the underlying document list has also been fixed.

What stays the same?

  • The same documents appear, in the same order, with the same filters, selection and permissions.

The benefit?

  • Case handlers on document-heavy claims can work without waiting for the page to catch up.

Corrupt file detection on upload

Uploaded documents are now checked for corruption as well as viruses, and a document that fails either check cannot be downloaded, viewed or sent for AI processing.

Until now a corrupt file could be uploaded, opened and passed into downstream processing, where it would fail late and confusingly. Every upload is now parsed after its virus scan to confirm the file really is what it claims to be.

What's changing?

  • Validation after virus scanning: PDFs, images and Word documents are parsed on upload to confirm they are readable.
  • A single status in the document list: the virus scan and validation results are combined into one status shown against each document.
  • Unsafe files are blocked: download, view and Medical AI actions are only available once a document is clean on both checks.

What stays the same?

  • Valid documents upload and behave exactly as before.
  • Existing documents are unaffected; validation applies to new uploads.

The benefit?

  • Problems with a file surface at upload, where they can be fixed, rather than part-way through a document generation job.

Guided tours in the dashboard

For all customers guided in-product tours now walk you through the product step by step.

Tours now run inside the dashboard, anchored to the real screens.

What's changing?

  • Step-by-step tours: a tour highlights each part of the screen in turn, and can carry you across more than one page.
  • A new Help page: available from the profile dropdown, listing the tours you can run.
  • Replay at any time: a completed tour can be started again from the Help page whenever you need it.

What stays the same?

  • Tours are guidance only. They never change your data, and every screen works exactly as it does today.

The benefit?

  • New case handlers learn the product inside the product, without alt-tabbing to a PDF.

Polish and bug fixes

  • Back to where you were going: following a direct link while logged out now returns you to that page after you sign in, rather than the default dashboard.
  • Case description on the case list: a case's description is now shown inline on the case list, so there is no need to open each case to read it.
  • Searching image-only PDFs: searching a document with no selectable text now explains that the document may contain images that cannot be searched.
  • Document generation notifications: the completion notification now links straight to the team task holding the generated documents.
  • Australian phone numbers: valid Australian mobile numbers are no longer rejected as invalid when adding or importing a contact.
  • Secondary phone numbers: a contact's secondary phone number is now saved correctly when you create or update the contact.
  • Currency values on claims: currency values collected on a case site now show correctly against claim attributes rather than as 'undefined'.
  • Cases in another company: opening a link to a case in a different company now offers to switch company and take you there, instead of failing with a generic error.
  • System status: the login page now links to the public system status page.
